Hinton Baker House

The Hinton Baker House, built in 1905 at 102 North 6th Street, is most notable for its beautiful ogee arches.

Hirth House

Originally built in 1886 for a newspaperman, the house was later purchased by Louis Hirth, the founder of the Palace Saloon. I(t is located in the "Silk Stalking" district.

First Presbyterian Church - Fernandina Beach

The First Presbyterian Church is located at 9 North 6th Street in Fernandina Beach, Florida. It was built in 1859 and is the oldest church structure on Amelia Island.

Nassau County Courthouse

Located at 416 Centre Street, the Nassau County Courthouse is the oldest Florida county courthouse in continuous use. It was built in 1891 in the Classical Revival Style.

US Post Office - Fernandina Beach

The US Post Office is located at 401 Centre Street in Fernandina Beach, Florida.Built in the style of the Medici Palace in Florence, it was completed in 1911 as a post office and customs house.Orifinally they had a courtroom in the 2nd floor to service the area and that has been restored.

The Palace Saloon

The Palace Saloon on the cornerof Centre and 2nd Streets in Fernandina Beach, Florida is the oldest bar in the state. Built in 1878, the Prescott Building was originally a haberdashery. It was purchased in 1903 by Louis Hirth who asked his old friend Adolphus Busch (Anheiser Bush fame) to help with the design and construction of the bar.

Their design featured inlaid mosaic tile floors, embossed tin ceilings, hand carved mahogany undraped famale fixtures. a 40 foot bar lit with gas lamps and walls painted with six commissioned murals.

In it's heyday, Fernandina Beach was one of the busiest ports in the south. Of the 20 bars in the town at the time, The Palace Saloon was known as the "Shipcaptains Bar."

Fernandina Beach Train Depot

Located at 102 Centre Atreet, the Fernandina Beach Train Depot was built in 1899. Although it no longer serves as a train depot , it is maintained by the convention bureau and is in the historical register of historical buidings.

David Levy Yulee

A statue of David Levy Yulee who was instrumental in building the Florida Railroad from Fernandina Beach on the Atlantic Ocean, to Cedar Key on the Gulf of Mexico. He also had a sugar plantion and mill in Homosassa, Florida where the remains of the mill can still be seen.
